Ti Ascent 300 WSM – Lite

This Ti-Ascent is built on a custom Lone Peak Razor-Ti, medium length action mated to a Proof Research Carbon barrel. The Sendro Lite barrel profile saves a few ounces on this rifle. It has been custom chambered in 300 WSM to take advantage of the medium length action which handles loaded rounds up to 3.2 inches in length to maximize case capacity with premium long range hunting bullets. The titanium action is glass bedded in a lightweight carbon-fiber stock with a fixed, high comb cheek-piece for proper cheek weld, excellent recoil management, and reliable precision. The 300 WSM is a record-setting 1000-yard cartridge that is capable of taking any North American big game animal.

This eye catching rifle is one of our lightest with the Proof Sendero Lite barrel chambered in 300 Winchester Short Magnum (WSM). This cartridge is popular amongs F-Class shooters and 1000 yard benchrest competitors. We load the 300 WSM with 215-grain Berger Hybrid bullets that carry some tremendous energy down-range for lethal performance capable of taking any north American big game animal. The 215 Berger is one of the best elk bullets available and delivers reliable terminal performance well beyond 500 yards.

The 300 WSM is a short action magnum capable of performance similar to that of the venerable 300 Winchester Magnum. We typically build these on custom, medium length actions so the longer, high-BC bullets can be seated much longer to maximize case capacity and reliably feed overall cartridge lengths up to 3.2″.

The 300 WSM has a bit more recoil than the 7mm SAUM, but many feel .308″ or 30 caliber is the magic mark if you want consistent DRT (Down/Dead Right There) performance. It’s very manageable thanks to the highly effective titanium muzzle brakes our rifles are fitted with.

This is an awesome shooting rifle that always gets attention when it comes out of the case.  If you’ve got an elk tag or want to make sure your mountain goat doesn’t make it to the edge of the cliff, this rifle is up to the task.
